Bible Reading
"Ephesians 2:1"
1. The Silent Virus
Have you ever noticed how today's society seems to live on "autopilot"? Like in zombie movies, we see people who have lost their will, consuming entertainment and pleasure endlessly, yet feeling increasingly empty. The Bible calls this being "dead in trespasses and sins" (Ephesians 2:1). Sin acts as a virus that numbs our sensitivity towards God and the pain of others.
2. Recovering Sensitivity
As this virus progresses, the heart becomes insensitive. We become cold to the needs of our family, allow aggression to rule our home, and desperately seek to fill a void that only God can satisfy. The Lord warns us not to harden our hearts. He wants to remove that heart of stone and restore our capacity to truly love, feel, and forgive.
3. Join the Army of the Living
You don't have to resign yourself to being dragged by the current of this world. If you are in Christ, you are a new creation. He has washed you, given you life, and rescued you from darkness. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, do not let the distraction of the world numb you again. Today is the day to wake up and fully live the abundant life He has for you.
Prayer of the day
"Lord Jesus, I ask for forgiveness if I have allowed distraction and sin to numb my heart. Awaken my spirit today. I do not want to live on autopilot or be consumed by this world. Fill me with Your life, restore my sensitivity towards You and my neighbor. Help me be a light in the midst of darkness. Amen."
