Bible Reading
"Psalms 51:12 — Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me."
📖 Key Text
"Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me." (Psalms 51:12)
💭 Reflection
The word enthusiasm comes from the Greek En-Theos, which literally means "to carry God inside". True enthusiasm is not simple human motivation; it is the visible evidence that the fire of God burns in your heart.
However, it is easy to fall into "spiritual burnout". We become accustomed to grace, we mechanize our prayers, and serving God becomes a burden instead of a privilege. This is what happened to David when he sinned: he didn't lose his kingdom or his riches, but he lost the joy of salvation.
If you feel exhausted, indifferent, or that your faith has cooled down, you don't need a motivational talk. You need to return to the source. You need to pray like David: "Restore to me the joy!" When God restores your joy, enthusiasm naturally returns, because an inhabited soul cannot remain turned off.
Prayer of the day
"Lord, I don't want to live my Christianity on autopilot. I recognize that I have lost passion and joy. Today I ask You to rekindle Your fire in my heart. Let my enthusiasm be the evidence that You live inside me. In Jesus' name, Amen."
