God and Mental Health: Free from the Prison

Bible Reading

"Isaiah 61:1 — To bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners..."

📖 Key Text

"To bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners..." (Isaiah 61:1)

💭 Reflection

The hardest prison to escape is not the one with iron bars, but the one built in our own minds. The enemy seeks to fill us with negative thoughts, anxiety, and jealousy to destroy our peace. But Jesus Christ didn't just come to heal our physical bodies; He came to bring "release from darkness" to captive minds.

If today you live chained to sadness, chronic stress, or unreal fear (somatizing diseases), surrender your mind to God. Even great servants of God like Elijah suffered depression under great pressure. God did not reject him, but sustained him and gave him new direction.

He is the only one who can order the chaos of your thoughts and give you true freedom. Stop today, stop feeding your mind with negativity, and fill yourself with the hope of His Word.

Prayer of the day

"Lord Jesus, today I surrender my thoughts to your obedience. I hand over my anxiety, fear, and stress. I know you came to give me freedom and open the prison of my mind. Renew my thoughts and fill me with your perfect peace. Amen."
