Bible Reading

"Galatians 3:24 — So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith."

📖 Key Text

"So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith." (Galatians 3:24)

💭 Reflection

Sometimes we look for earthly guides, religious rules or self-help books to find direction. In antiquity there was the 'Paidagogos' (Guardian), a temporary tutor or slave who forced children to behave well on the outside, even if they didn't want to on the inside.

That is exactly what religion does: it gives you external rules, but it cannot change your heart. All these earthly "guardians" are temporary and imperfect. Jesus, on the other hand, did not come to be your Paidagogos. He came to be your Father and your Perfect Guide.

Jesus is the only guide who not only instructs your mind with information, but has the power to transform your character from the inside out. Let go of the incomplete paidagogos and allow Christ today to submit your will in obedience out of love.

Prayer of the day

"Lord Jesus, I recognize that many times I have trusted in my own concepts and religious rules. Today I decide to let go of any false teacher or mentality that has me stuck. Be my Perfect Guide and my Father. Mold my character until it reflects yours. Amen."
