Bible Reading

"Genesis 24:16 — 'The woman was very beautiful, a virgin; no man had ever slept with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again.'"

📖 Key Text

"The woman was very beautiful, a virgin; no man had ever slept with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again." (Genesis 24:16)

💭 Reflection

Eliezer, Abraham's servant, had prayed to God with a specific request: that the right woman for Isaac would be the one who offered water not only to him but also to his ten camels.

Do you know how much water a thirsty camel drinks? Between 25 and 35 gallons. Ten thirsty camels mean up to 350 gallons of water. The water jar they used carried about 10 gallons. That means an estimated 35 trips to the well.

Rebekah didn't know she was being tested. She didn't know a servant sent by God was watching. She simply served. Without complaining. Without asking for anything in return. Without expecting applause.

What a woman! A woman like this, Proverbs 31 says, who sacrifices for her home and for God, is a priceless jewel.

In a world where social media promotes vanity, sensuality, and being the center of attention, God is still looking for women and men of service. Character is revealed not when everyone is watching, but when nobody is looking.

The question is: What is your attitude toward service when nobody is watching you?

🙏 Prayer

Lord, teach me to serve like Rebekah. Without expecting recognition, without complaining, without calculating the cost. Let my character be forged in silent service. When You look at my life, may You find a genuine willingness to serve You and others. Amen.

💪 Action of the Day

Today: Do something for someone without being asked and without expecting a thank you. Serve in silence. God sees what men ignore.
