"Ephesians 4:31 — Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice."
📖 Key Text
"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." (Ephesians 4:31-32)
💭 Reflection
We live in a fast-paced world where worry, anxiety, and concern often cross the boundaries of what is healthy. What starts as a simple "workload" or "family concern" soon produces dissatisfaction, lack of contentment, and consequently, produces anger. Often, anger doesn't manifest with shouting; it hides behind phrases like "I'm irritated", "I'm frustrated", or "I'm just tired". We deny the anger, but our body absorbs it.
The story of Nabal in 1 Samuel 25 is a staggering warning. Described as a harsh and angry man, his life was marked by stubbornness. When Abigail told him how she had saved him from David, "his heart died within him, and he became as a stone". Constant anger and stress release high levels of adrenaline and cortisol that weaken the cardiovascular system. It's not just a spiritual problem; it's a poison (hemah) that destroys your physical body, oxidizing your health and clogging your literal and spiritual arteries.
Today is the day to stop this toxic cycle. Jesus began the Sermon on the Mount by warning about the danger of anger because He knew it destroys relationships, families, and your own health. The solution is not to pretend you are not angry, but to recognize it, evaluate what wound is causing it, and hand it over to God. The Holy Spirit has the power to transform that deep frustration into compassionate love, allowing you to forgive and let go of control.
🙏 Prayer
💪 Today's Action
Today: Identify a situation that constantly irritates you. Instead of denying it, take a 10-second pause before reacting. Pray and hand over control of that situation to God. Decide to proactively forgive the person who frustrated you this week.

Prayer of the day
"Lord, I recognize that often the worry and anxiety I carry turn into anger. I beg You to cleanse me from all bitterness and retained anger that is poisoning my soul. In Jesus' name, Amen."
