Bible Reading

"Ruth 4:15 — He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age."

📖 Key Text

"He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth." (Ruth 4:15)

💭 Reflection

Sometimes we find ourselves in an emotional dead end, feeling that bad decisions, pain, or circumstances have taken us to a point of no return. Like Naomi, the bitterness of loss and hopelessness can cloud our vision of God's grace. She left Bethlehem full, but returned empty, asking to be called Mara (bitterness).

However, the Lord is always orchestrating redemption in the midst of our ruins. He is the great restorer. In Hebrew, to restore is Shuv, which means "to return to the original state". God is not satisfied with giving us passing comfort or temporary motivation; He does not place simple emotional patches. He heals, cures (Rapha), and restores from the root.

The birth of Obed was the tangible proof for Naomi that her story did not end in bitterness. In the same way, Jesus Christ is the only one capable of taking our broken soul, forgiving our deviations, and returning lasting joy to us.

Prayer of the day

"Lord, I recognize that many times my decisions have distanced me from You and brought pain to my life. I ask for Your forgiveness. Be the restorer of my soul. In Jesus' name, Amen."
