Bible Reading
"Genesis 24:67 — 'Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.'"
📖 Key Text
"Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death." (Genesis 24:67)
💭 Reflection
Isaac and Rebekah had the marriage with the most indications of God's will in all of Scripture. A servant prayed for direction. God responded supernaturally. Rebekah demonstrated an extraordinary character by serving 10 thirsty camels. Everything seemed perfect.
But time passed. The prayer that was once the foundation of their home began to fade. Emotional preferences took the place of God's will. Isaac loved Esau. Rebekah loved Jacob. The home that God united was divided by human neglect.
The Bible says in Galatians 5:7: "You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?" This question applies to Isaac and Rebekah, and it applies to you and me.
Spiritual life is a treasure that must be cared for every day. It is not enough to have started well. It is not enough to have a promise, a calling, or a spiritual history. If we neglect the fundamental principles — prayer, communion, transparency, obedience — everything can deteriorate.
The enemy doesn't need you to become an atheist. He just needs you to be distracted enough to lose your connection with God.
🙏 Prayer
💪 Action of the Day
