Bible Reading

Key Verse
"Make the work harder for the people so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies." (Exodus 5:9)
Reflection
In the Old Testament, everything is a type of the spiritual. Pharaoh is not just a historical figure—he is the clearest type of Satan in all of Scripture. And his strategy was to cloud the knowledge of God: a people who do not know God cannot obey Him or move forward.
Pharaoh used 7 strategies to stop Israel, exactly the same ones the enemy uses today:
1. He doesn't want you to know God — «Who is the Lord?» (Exodus 5:2). The god of this age blinds the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4).
2. He wants you to be a slave to work — «Make the work harder!» (Exodus 5:9). The enemy doesn't take God away from you; he saturates you with worries until you have no time for Him.
3. Discouragement and frustration — «They did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor» (Exodus 6:9). Spiritual exhaustion extinguishes faith.
4. To stop your worship — Pharaoh's entire war was to prevent Israel from worshiping (Exodus 7:16). Satan has the same goal: he distracts you with your phone, a fly, problems—anything.
5. If you worship, make it half-hearted — «Do not go very far» (Exodus 8:25-28). The enemy has no problem with you coming to church, as long as you don't surrender completely.
6. He wants your family — «Let only the men go» (Exodus 10:10). He is more interested in your children than anything else.
7. He wants your finances — «Leave your flocks and herds behind» (Exodus 10:24). If he controls your finances, he controls your peace, your faith, and your future.
Moses did not negotiate any of Pharaoh's proposals. He responded with absolute certainty: «Everything is God's and everything belongs to Him. We will give complete worship.»
You don't yield an inch to the enemy. Worship, family, and finances are non-negotiable. Christ broke every chain on the cross—but you need to know it and claim it.
