The Absolute Truth: All Roads DO NOT Lead to God
Base Text: John 14:6 - "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
INTRODUCTION
"Everyone has their own truth" and "The important thing is to be a good person; in the end, all religions lead to God." These phrases sound very nice, tolerant, and inclusive in modern society. But there is a serious problem: they are an absolute spiritual lie that condemns souls. In our generation, truth has become subjective ("my truth", "your truth"), but when we talk about eternity, we cannot rely on human opinions. The Bible is uncompromising and radical in presenting Christ as the only door to salvation.
1. THE DEADLY DANGER OF MORAL RELATIVISM
"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." (Proverbs 14:12)
- The strategy of dilution: The enemy will always try to distort the truth, not by outright denying it (hard atheism doesn't convince that many), but by diluting it. Today's deception is to make man believe he doesn't need a Savior, just to "vibrate higher" or have "positive energy."
- The insufficiency of good works (Ephesians 2:8-9): If 'good works' were enough to lead us to God, then the cross of Calvary would have been a tragic mistake and the suffering of Christ unnecessary.
- The mountain of religion: Human religion teaches that man must climb the mountain by earning merit to reach God. Christianity teaches that God descended from the mountain to rescue man who was dead in his sins.
2. THE SCANDALOUS EXCLUSIVITY OF CHRIST
Jesus makes the most exclusive and confronting statement in human history: "No one comes to the Father except through me". To the world, this sounds arrogant. But let's look at the evidence:
- He is the only one who resurrected (1 Corinthians 15:14): No other religious leader defeated death. The tombs of Muhammad, Buddha, and Confucius are occupied; the tomb of Christ is empty.
- DO vs DONE: All the religions of the world are based on "DO" (you have to perform rituals, give money, purify yourself). The gospel is based on "DONE" (Christ already DID IT ALL on the cross, John 19:30).
- The only Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5): "For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus". Not the saints, not the virgins, not the universe can mediate for your soul before a Holy God.
3. EXCLUSIVE, BUT OPEN TO ALL (THE INCLUSIVE INVITATION)
Although there is only one way, the door is wide open for all nations, races, and people, regardless of their past.
- True biblical inclusion (John 6:37): "whoever comes to me I will never drive away". The gospel is exclusive because it demands surrender to a single truth, but it is the most inclusive message in the universe because the invitation of grace is for everyone.
- No one is "too much of a sinner": Paul persecuted the church and was forgiven. It doesn't matter how far away you are; the cross is a bridge long enough to bring you back home.
CONCLUSION
Do not be deceived by hollow philosophies, new age doctrines, or mysticisms that numb your conscience but cannot forgive your sins. Your soul is too valuable to gamble on paths invented by man.
Call to Action: If today you have been seeking peace in human philosophies, stop. Come to the foot of the Cross and confess Jesus as your only Lord and Savior.
