The Male and Female Brain: Exegesis of the Mind and Divine Design
We live in an era where there are still believers who ignore the terrible damage that the human mind and brain are suffering. The attacks of the kingdom of darkness and the destructive use of technology are maximizing human condemnation. Insensitivity has reached the point where we see devastating news—such as children with suicidal impulses or domestic atrocities—and we minimize them.
The prophetic signs and warnings are laid out on the table (Genesis 6:5). If you ignore the voice of God or the message, the consequences are terrible. That is why I feel God is speaking to us about controlling what we see and do, before it is too late. Today we will talk about the male brain, the female brain, and what the Holy Spirit does to thoughts, the brain, and the nervous system. Anyone who wishes to save their soul from condemnation must seek to hear God and heed the word.
1. Brain Differences Between Men and Women
God made man and woman in the same process: (Genesis 2:20-22 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man).
The source is the same (our flesh), but the brain was different. A woman thinks differently, and her brain is very different from a man's.
Although we share 90% of our genetic code, there are differences that influence how we feel, think, and lead:
| ASPECT | WOMAN | MAN |
|---|---|---|
| Brain Connections | 40% more fibrous, able to use both hemispheres at once (Multitasking). | Less fibrous, uses one hemisphere at a time (single-tasking). |
| Size | Women's neurons are closer together and better interconnected. | The male brain is 9% larger. |
| Thinking Style | The woman is multitasking; capable of doing many things at once. | The man is more linear, only one task. |
| Language | Develops speech first in childhood, uses more words, communicates emotions more (they have 11% more neurons for this). | Uses fewer words, difficulty expressing feelings. |
| Emotions | Feel – Speak – Think (activates the left part of the amygdala which favors finer emotional memories, generating female intuition). | Feel – Act – Think. |
| Problem Solving | Seeks to understand and talks about the problem as a whole. Tends to generalize and connect all problems. | More sequential: feel – act – think. |
Of course, you will realize that this is where conflicts arise. A woman says, 'Let's sit down and talk this through.' Meanwhile, the man is trying his hardest to fix the issue and move on with his life. Remember, neither response is wrong and neither is better than the other.
| ASPECT | WOMAN | MAN |
|---|---|---|
| Perception | Better hearing in both ears; captures more sounds. | More spatially oriented, more structured, and action-oriented. |
| Senses | Has a larger hippocampus, making it easier to memorize and recall. Better memory of faces and details. | Rely more on spatial maps and route memory. More limited hearing. |
| Resting Function | Brain always on, attentive to everything. | On/off mode; concentrates on what he does and disconnects when finished. |
| Lifestyle | Flexible, jumps between activities without losing track. | Prefers routines. |
| Brain Chemistry | More prone to depressive states and stress. | Produces over 50% more serotonin than women (stable emotional responses). |
| Biblical Perspective | Called to help, connect, nurture, and provide relational balance (Genesis 2:18). | Called to provide, protect, focus, and decide firmly (Genesis 2:15). |
Without understanding how we function, we assume the other is wrong. The human brain was damaged by Satan, who continues to attack and destroy it.
2. The Effect of Evil on Both
- Neurobiological: sin and vices change brain chemistry (dopamine, cortisol, serotonin).
- Emotional: loss of sensitivity, an inability to love and forgive.
- Spiritual: the mind is darkened, calling evil good (Isaiah 5:20).
In the Man:
- Excessive pornography, video games, or addictions destroy his capacity for focus and emotional connection.
- His mind, designed to protect and decide, becomes filled with selfishness, evasion, or anger.
- Instead of loving sacrificially (Ephesians 5:25), he seeks only to satisfy his own desires.
In the Woman:
- Excessive comparisons (social media, the culture of the "ideal") generate dissatisfaction, anxiety, and a lack of identity.
- Her mind, designed to connect and nurture, becomes filled with distrust, resentment, and control.
- Instead of being a suitable helper (Genesis 2:18), she falls into rivalry or emotional distance.
Consequences in the Relationship
- Broken Communication: He isolates himself in work, screens, or addictions; she takes refuge in complaints, criticism, or silence.
- Loss of Intimacy: Sexual addiction and lack of affection kill the physical and emotional union. The saturated mind no longer responds to real love, but to the artificial.
- Competition, not Complement: Instead of joining forces, they clash. He wants to impose, she wants to control.
- Spiritual Coldness: With the mind tied to evil, praying and seeking God together stops. Indifference enters, then resentment.
3. Path of Restoration
- Renew the mind in Christ (Romans 12:2): recognize that evil has damaged the heart and brain.
- Emotional healing: forgive past wounds and cut off destructive habits (Ephesians 4:22-24).
- Return to God's design:
- Him: love as Christ loved the Church.
- Her: respect and support as the Church to Christ.
- Concrete practices: prayer together, screen-free time, sincere dialogue, biblical counseling.
We are like this, but remember that the brain is plastic, and it has a capacity to regenerate, change, and act in God's way. That is where the need for the Holy Spirit comes in.
This whole relationship business is about left-brain driven men and right-brain driven women who attract each other. If they are ever going to be able to communicate and bridge their gender gaps and become a functional couple, they must learn to understand and use each other's style of language, at least to some extent. You must become bilingual! Can you make this change?
