⚡ An Attack on the Mind - Devotional Express

Bible Reading

"Ephesians 6:16 — Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."

💭 Express Reflection (3 min)

We live in an era where our attention span has been hijacked. Have you noticed how sometimes it's easier to spend hours on social media than to read the Bible for five minutes? The enemy acts like a hacker; he knows that if he floods our brain with dopamine (instant pleasure) and cortisol (stress), we lose our capacity for spiritual reasoning.

The "fiery darts" Paul speaks of are not literal arrows; they are thoughts: anxiety, doubts, irrational fears. When you try to debate these thoughts in your own mind, you end up more tangled. Faith is the only shield capable of extinguishing them.

Having faith does not mean feeling invincible; it means deciding to believe God even when your circumstances scream the opposite. Today, turn off the screens, raise your shield, and surrender control of your mind to the Lord.

🙏 Express Prayer

Lord, I recognize that many times I have left my mind unprotected. I surrender my thoughts, my fears, and my anxieties to You. Today I raise the shield of faith and declare that no dart of the enemy will be able to steal my peace. Renew my brain with Your truth. Amen.

Prayer of the day

"Lord, my mind is sometimes a battlefield. Today I decide to believe Your Word. I renounce fear and declare that my mind belongs to Christ. Amen."
