Have you ever felt that your emotional stability depends on whether someone looks at you, acknowledges you, or gives you a word of encouragement? That is the danger of putting a person in the place that belongs to God. When we make someone our center, we end up living in anxiety and frustration, begging for a love that only the Father can give us perfectly.

The story of Leah teaches us this: she had her first three sons seeking the approval of her husband Jacob, but he still didn't love her. It wasn't until her fourth son, Judah, that she said, "This time I will praise the Lord." She let go of control and put God in the center. Today, let go of the need for human approval. You were already approved and loved on the cross.

Lord, I recognize that many times I have begged for love and approval from others. Forgive me for putting people above You. Today I decide to change my focus, like Leah, and say: "This time I will praise the Lord." Fill me with Your love. Amen.
