⚡ Path to Transformation: Love - Express Devotional
Bible Reading
"Colossians 3:14 — 'And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.'"
📖 Key Text
Colossians 3:14 — "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
💭 Express Reflection (3 min)
We say "I fell in love" as if it were an accident. "I can't help it, I'm in love." Or the opposite: "I just don't love him anymore." We speak as if love were uncontrollable.
But Paul uses a powerful image: Love is a GARMENT. Every morning you decide what to wear. Nobody forces you to dress a certain way. In the same way, agape love is a voluntary decision.
If Jesus commanded us to love one another, it means love IS controllable. We don't wait to feel love to act with love; we act with love and the feelings follow.
🔥 Transforming Fact
Hurt people hurt people. If someone hurts you, it's because that person is hurting. Look past their flaws to see their needs.
🙏 Express Prayer
💪 Action of the Day
Today: Identify that person who is hard to love. Instead of judging their flaws, ask yourself: "What need do they have that I can meet with love?"
Prayer of the day
"Father, today I choose to put on love. I won't wait to feel it, I will simply do it. Help me to forgive those who have hurt me and to see the needs behind the offenses. Amen."
