⚡ A God Who Did Not Spare — Express Devotional
Lectura Bíblica
"Romans 8:32 — He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?"
📖 Key Text
"He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" (Romans 8:32)
💭 Reflection
The Greek word for spare is pheidomai: to avoid, haggle, be scarce. Its synonyms are stingy, limited, haggler. But God is none of that.
Sometimes we behave like the older son in the parable of Luke 15: we live in the Father's house, but we believe He is stingy. We complain that He has never given us anything, while He tells us: "All my things are yours".
Romans 8:32 reveals a Father who was willing to do everything, who gave the most valuable thing in heaven for you. If He did not spare His own Son to save you, how do you think He is going to deny you what you really need? You don't have because you don't know how to ask, or because you distrust Him believing He is scarce.
Change your perspective today: God is extremely generous (plousios). He owns everything and lavishes love for you.
